Reckless Pour Homme is a dry, woody chypre that takes us on a journey out of the light and into a Conrad-esque heart of darkness.  We start out with the sour zestiness of bergamot and lemon, caramelized, sun-warmed lavender, and the bitter green herbalcy of bay leaf and artemisia. But soon the fragrance plunges us into the gloom of the jungle, with a mossy, woody heart hovering over a musky, leathery labdanum. Here and there, tiny flecks of clove, ginger, and cinnamon spark up the darkness like fireflies. It’s a masculine aroma – one of taut danger and excitement. As bitter and as rich as a double espresso, the fragrance begins to soften and relax in the base, developing into a creamy, powdered mix of resins, tonka bean, iris, and styrax.
