What is The Fragrantist?+
The Fragrantist is a price comparison and discovery site for fragrance decants and full bottles. We track prices and stock across 30+ stores so you can find the best price and source for any fragrance in one place.
Does The Fragrantist sell fragrances directly?+
No. We don't sell, ship, or hold inventory. Every purchase happens directly on the retailer's site, we simply help you find and compare the options.
How is The Fragrantist different from Fragrantica or Parfumo?+
Those sites are great for fragrance encyclopedias and community reviews. We're focused specifically on price comparison: finding you the cheapest legitimate decant or bottle across many stores at once.
Shopping & decants
What's a decant, and is it safe to buy?+
A decant is a small portion of an authentic fragrance, hand-poured from a full bottle by an independent seller. Every store listed on The Fragrantist has been vetted for legitimacy, we don't list sellers with a history of counterfeit complaints.
Why do prices vary so much between stores?+
Stores buy stock at different times and prices, run different promotions, and have different shipping models. This is exactly why price comparison is useful, the same fragrance can vary 2 to 3x in price across sellers.
What size decant should I get to start?+
A 2ml decant is usually enough for 2–4 full wears, which is plenty to judge how a fragrance behaves on your skin over a day. See our Decants vs. full bottles guide for more.
Pricing & stores
How often are prices updated?+
Prices and stock are pulled directly from each store's own listings and refreshed on a regular schedule as our tracking pipeline runs. We're still tuning that cadence, so treat the price shown as a strong starting point and confirm the final price on the retailer's own site before buying.
How do I get my store listed?+
It's free. Reach out to us with your Shopify or Squarespace URL and our team will review it before it goes live.
Does The Fragrantist earn a commission on purchases?+
Some listed stores are affiliate partners, which may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which store is shown as the best price, pricing is always shown accurately first.
Account
Do I need an account to use The Fragrantist?+
No, browsing and price comparison are free and open to everyone right now. Accounts (for saved collections, price alerts, and reviews) are a feature we're actively building, not available yet.
Can I get notified when a price drops?+
Price alerts are on our roadmap but not live yet. Once accounts ship, you'll be able to set a target price on any fragrance page and get an email when it's hit.
